Biography
Javier Castillo is a composer/musician/educator.
A native of Los Angeles, Javier began his musical collegiate studies at Cerritos College in 2010. In 2018, he earned a BM in Music Performance from Vanguard University, graduating in Cum Laude.
Javier has performed for a variety of groups, with styles ranging from Latin, Jazz, Classical, Blues, and Rock across the Los Angeles and Orange County area.
In 2024, Javier graduated from Cal State Long Beach and the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, earning a Masters in Music Degree in Music Composition.
As a student at CSULB/BCCM, Javier studied privately with Dr. Raymond Torres-Santos, Dr. Alexander Miller, and the late Dr. Sarah Gibson.
Javier's compositions have been influenced by his many years of performing, as well as the jazz and classical music he studied under Duane Allen and John Marr. His musical and artistic influences range from Johann Sebastian Bach, Frank Zappa, David Lynch, and Eddie Van Halen.
